Published: 8th May 2025 Fixing of the floating day 2025/26 for CBMDC School based Support Staff City of Bradford Metropolitan District Council allows one additional day's paid annual leave to be granted each year, which is known as the floating day. The Council reserves the right to determine each year the date on which the floating day will be taken. If the day has not been designated by 30 April in any one year it should be added to the employee’s Annual Leave entitlement for that year. For this annual leave year 1 April to 31 March (2025/26), in accordance with the Conditions of Service, the floating day has been fixed on Friday 2 January 2026. In addition to the floating day and annual leave allowance, for schools who follow CBMDC Conditions of Service, School Employees are entitled to 8 Statutory Bank Holidays and 3 “Extra Statutory Days” – the Tuesdays following the Easter, Spring and Summer Bank Holiday Mondays.
For schools that may have been open on Tuesday 22 April, you should allow those staff who should have been off, a day off in lieu. The above applies to any Schools / Academies / Trusts who follow CBMDC Local Conditions of Service. Please ensure that you have accounted for the above in any annual leave entitlement records for all year-round staff. Please note Term Time Only (or TTO+) employees are not affected as the above is already factored into TTO pay calculations. The above does not apply to teaching staff. For PACT HR clients who do not follow CBMDC Pay and Conditions please refer to your local contracts of employment regarding any applicable floating days or contact the PACT HR Help Desk for further advice. |
