Therefore the employer must ensure that this need to utilise technology is balanced with its duty to safeguard children, the reputation of the organisation and the wider community.

In order to do this it is recommended that the organisation ensures it has adopted policies on the usage of Technology such as CCTV, ICT and Social Networking and provide guidance on best practice, clarify expected standards of conduct and explain what the potential consequences of non-compliance may be.
