Appropriate standards of conduct at work apply to make it clear to employees what is expected of them during the course of their work and employment.  It is vital that all employees know what is required and expected of them to avoid any misunderstanding and to ensure the safety and well being of other employees and the children.  

Where it is necessary to consider the conduct of an employee it should be carried out following a fair and consistent process.  Guidance and best practice is available to support the management team and governors on dealing with the practicalities of arranging and carrying out investigations, which should be used in accordance with the relevant policy or procedure, as determined by the nature of the issue under investigation.
