World Wellbeing Week


24th June 2019 marked the start of World Wellbeing Week, aimed at promoting awareness of the various factors contributing to our wellbeing; including physical, emotional, social, environmental and financial. World Wellbeing Week provides an opportunity for organisations around the world to showcase their wellbeing strategies and shine a light on good practice.

Why do you need to know?

MIND’s 2017/18 Workplace Wellbeing index showed that 25% of organisations do not monitor staff wellbeing and mental health. However, it isn’t just our occupational wellbeing that we need to be mindful of.

An ONS bulletin published in April 2019 highlighted that one fifth of the UK population continue to report high levels of anxiety and whilst this reached a three-year low in 2018, this still equates to around 10 million people. In addition, the bulletin reported an increase in income inequality.

In maintaining a good level of employee wellbeing, we need to consider factors both in and outside of the workplace.
